2022 ASRA Nationals

ASRA Nationals in Strathalbyn                                    Friday 29th April – Sunday 1st May 2022

The 2022 ASRA Nationals will be hosted by the Southern Districts Flying Club at Strathalbyn Airfield (YSYN) South Australia.

Strathalbyn airfield is a 5min drive from the Strathalbyn township and is adjacent to the small town of Langhorne Creek famous for its wine growing. The quiet private airfield is surrounded by a number of other small airfields (eg Callington YCTO, Goolwa YGWA, Aldinga YADG, Meningie YMEG, and Brooklands YBAK) all within 25 miles and for which flights are planned during the weekend.

Lake Alexandrina is a 5 mile flight south of the airfield and the mouth of the Murray River is a mere 10miles further on with the spectacular Coorong National Park beginning south of the Murray Mouth.

Adelaide is an hour’s drive north of the airfield, and there is a steam train connecting the two nearby towns of Goolwa and Victor Harbor. Victor Harbor hosts the South Australian Whale Centre which is well worth a visit as well as the opportunity of riding the only horse-drawn tramway in Australia.

Participants will experience spectacular coastal ocean, coastal gulf, coastal lake, plains, river and rangeland flying.

Registration and further details are at www.sdfc.org.au All pilots are required to register.
